Look at that! It's turning out so wonderful!!!
I have been falling behind on my Schnibbles. I have fallen into a serious slump in my creative process. Work has been crazy and I think that has thrown me off a bit. I haven't created anything since April.
I also think that I have developed a fear of cutting. I get that from time to time (http://textilehouse.blogspot.com/2009/08/fear-of-cutting.html).
The fabrics are so gorgeous I am constantly questioning my pattern choice, my fabric choice... I love that I can live vicariously through your enthusiasm and creativity!

I'm doing a State Fair from a jelly roll of American Jane Snippets. Somehow using Snippets for Schnibbles just seemed appropriate.

The amount of waste in this design as written broke my heart, so I made plastic templates to cut the quadrilateral shapes from the jelly roll strips, flipping the template back and forth, so of course I ended up with half my blocks turning like they're supposed to, clockwise, and the other half counterclockwise. I'm not sure if I'm going to end up with 2 quilts here or if I'm going to mess around with the layouts so that I can use all the blocks in one. I'm still only about half done piecing so I can put off the decision a long time.

you have no idea howmuch of the wonderland fabric I've bought!!! i have an addiction to it that rivals Paris flea market!!! I love fabric ingeneral, but don't you find that sometimes there is a line that sings to your soul and you have to have as much of it as you can get?

I love the State Fair pattern especially with the fabric you're using, but I am biased as I <3 everything by MoMo. I love how you mixed in some wonderland. It looks great.

I'm not sure about State Fair.....still mulling it over. I am try to imagine it in my country colors and I can't quite see it. Still mulling...LOL!

Wow Nicole! It looks great - it's certainly a big change from Elizabeth though!
Isn't it incredible how without being told you would just know those were Japanese fabrics. They are gorgeous - I've certainly never seen anything like them over this side of the Atlantic!

Just got caught up on your blog. So sorry to hear about your husband's job. Some times things happen for the best. We'll keep thinking positive thoughts for you. I also noticed you were looking for new books. I've read some of the suggestions and I have an additional one: The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Sadly it's the only book this author wrote, but it's the best book I've read in years. I can't recommend too much.

Jean

Seriously great colors! Something I normally wouldn't pick, but something I like. I think we all need to stretch our color/design pallet at times. Great pattern!

Great fabric!

I love this " state fair " pattern. Gonna have to pick that one up.
As always, thanks for the inspiration !
