Did I get your attention? How about that piece of cake, eh? That piece of cake is now a fond memory of my recent trip to San Francisco. This is called "Italian Wedding Cake with Seasonal Berries, Meringue, Zabaglione, and Berry Compote". Amazing. I had it at a very popular restaurant called Rose Pistola.
In the late 90's, this restaurant was the absolute hit of not only San Francisco, but the entire country, winning the James Beard award. Last year they completely remodeled the inside, and I can tell you, it was lovely.
I didn't go to San Francisco just to go to cool restaurants though. The trip was business related and lasted just two and a half days. I used to get up to San Francisco frequently when I lived closer, but over the past few years I have gotten there much less often. This trip made me remember how much I enjoy being in the City, and I am promising myself to make the effort to go more often in the future.
The hotel I stayed at was on the border of the Financial District, Chinatown and North Beach, which was such a convenience to loads of great restaurants.

What fun! I have some nice memories of visits to San Francisco. My favorite earrings were bought there in a little boutique somewhere, probably about 15 years ago.

Yummy! I'd love to go someday! I can say I saw the Golden Gate Bridge from an airplane earlier this summer, but that's as close as I got!

Honestly, What is up with that Cake! Goodness! I've been to San Fran twice for business and loved every minute of it. It is so alive! After the first time I told my daughter that I could easily live there. It is so out of character for me but it's so much fun! I hope you enjoyed every minute!
