I look forward to visiting Gertie's new blog! Isn't it nice to make friends all over the planet that are joined to our hearts from the start by our shared love of fabrics and sewing? Like us tho we're very nearly a continent's width apart!!

Raise the Roof is a cute pattern but I can see how easy it is to experience the fabric placement pitfall. Love your new fabric choices! I can just imagine you, Nicole the speed quilting wizard, will have this quilt top finished by Oct. 1 even if you get home from your lovely trip on Sept. 28th! I always stand amazed by your speedy accomplishments.

Hugs!

I was lucky enough to meet Gertie in person at the FQ Retreat in London this year....where I think everybody twisted her arm so much that she felt morally obliged to start blogging! She's lovely...you would like her!!!

I popped over to Gertie's blog and yes, she does have a lovely blog. She summarized her "learning points" from your blog rather nicely. If memory serves, didn't your Raise the Roof also encounter a doggy accident?

It will be nice to see the new and improved version with the blues and browns. Hope you are still having fun on your trip! May the travel angels be with you!

Gosh Nicole thank you for the lovely post! I am very happy that you found your lovely Raise the Roof pattern again - I'm sure this time all of your blocks will come out pretty! I think before this post I assumed that any pretty fabric would make a pretty block but now I know different.

As soon as I get my Apple Crisp quilt finished (that's another pattern I found from your blog incidentally), I am going to set to work on something lovely out of your Curio fabric!

YAY!!! Another UFO sees the light of day...gives me hope that I will pull out a UFO and be inspired to finish it! ;p
