I too find sewing nine patches soothing. A simple block that can be used in so many ways in creating a quilt. I like your name change for the pattern.

I love all your nine patches Nicole. They are the kind of sewing I like to do when I need a break from working on a quilt that requires intense concentration. Perfect to relax and de-stress with. Can't wait to see what you make with them. Also I have read "The Art of Racing the Rain"...what a beautiful story. Hugs...

What wonderful, colorful 9 patches you've made as you enjoyed zen bliss and I love your quilt's new name! Applause, applause!

I need to get my medical office out of my little sewing room now that FIL is gone. This small room is too clogged up for my own good.

Hugs!

I too love making nine patch blocks. I call it 'no mind' sewing. When you don't have to think too much and just pedal to the metal!

Jacque

Love the 9 patches. Loved the book!!!

Mary L.

I loved that book1 You just reminded me to reread it.

Do you prepare your nine patches in strip sets first and then cut them into segments, or are you connecting individual squares? I always wondered how random it can look when a quilter does long strip sets... How hard is it to keep them mixed up well?

Jan

Oooohhh!!! Nine patches are my absolute favorite to make! Your's are really pretty!

Deb@asimplelifequilts

Great book and blocks! Love making 9 patches.

Yes, nine patch blocks are mindless, and soooo satisfying. I read The Art of Racing in the Rain and really enjoyed it. Interesting and amazing what goes on in dogs' minds (and people's lives). Well, actually I should clarify that -- what goes on in some dogs' minds. Our dog, a golden retriever, is a dog of big heart and very little brain, and thinks only about food, I'm sure.
