I can totally relate! I operate the same way that you do, then I wonder why nothing ever gets done around here! One thing leads to another...

BTW, your post title is so funny!

Karen

We all have days like that. Procrastination. I wonder why we let so many little things get in the way of accomplishing what we *really* want to get done. Hmmm.

Well, I have to say, your organized drawers look wonderful!

And you have such wonderful fabrics, nothing wrong with looking at them and appreciation the beauty.

Karen

I meant to say *appreciating* the beauty.

Miss Jean

I sometimes go in my sewing room and get so overwhelmed that I have to quietly leave the room and shut the door!

As far as Ozzie is concerned: put on a Liza Minelli or Elton John record and see what he does! LOL!

sara

Creative Title Momma! Are you ready to shop!!
I am so excited for Andrea's birthday how fun is this!

Carrie

Your post CRACKED ME UP!! LOL
We all get like that. Don't be too hard on yourself - look at all the organizing you got done on other things! Awesome.
God bless :)

pam

You are totally cracking me up. Of course today I am sitting here trying to figure out what to do with myself even though the place is a mess all I can think of is getting out.

Gail

Steps to take -
1. Whenever you see other things to do, say to yourself "no, that will have to wait."
2. Concentrate on slow breathing when it gets really overwhelming. Tell yourself you have the discipline to do this.
3. Remind yourself you are not alone in this task, others have to do this.
4. Take frequent mini breaks. Say after each hour or half hour, check your blogs, make a fresh pot of coffee, etc. Keep these breaks down to 10 mins or less.
5. Block out your work, say shelves 1 -5 today, etc, and stick to it. Don't continue once you completed your assigned task, even if you're not tired.

That's it. Discipline, lots of self talk and coffee. Now I have to get back to the "I hate this project (banking stuff)" I'm working on today.

Funny, funny, funny. I was just reading your last few posts. The shoes....on my gosh! They certainly were destroyed.

Your project boxes all look neat and organized to me. Much more so than mine.

Nancy

Go through your shoes to donate?? What are you thinking??? Ozzie would love them! I cringed when I saw you had your Posh project in a box. I thought, "oh, no" but glad to see it is put away because you want to get organized. I want to do that too but I open my closet up, look at all the "stuff" and promptly close the door. You have to admit, Ozzie is precious! Nancy in WI

I've been procrastinating majorly, too. Maybe it's the time of year (hope, hope).

In order to cope in the studio, I've tried to focus on finishing a few smaller projects, and there's been a bunch of re-purposing going on, too. (not to mention staring into space, shaking my head, and moving things around aimlessly).

Give Ozzie a hug ~ at least his antics make you laugh (after you get done scolding).

Take care ~ things can only improve!

Chris@Cats On My Quilts

Ozzie's not gay-maybe he's just a Metrosexual. I admit I don't know what that means but it sounds modern and fun. It's sad to be in my 50's and not know what anyone is talking about half the time.

Lynne in Hawaii

Giggle, giggle, giggle...you make me laugh. Thanks for the grins. I am all for take the sewing room a little at a time then it won't be overwhelming. I'm not sure it would be a good idea to give Ozzie more shoes...he will definitely get confused and think all shoes are fair game.

Mary Wood

Ozzie is not gay he just saw you put on your lippy so he thought he would try to LOL I look in my craft room with big intentions of sorting things out then I shut the door and say I will do it later but later never comes One day I will get round to it.
Hugs Mary.

Perry

You really need help, Nicole, this is so funny. You need to go hide out in my rabbit hole for a while. Don't you have a retreat this month? Maybe that will straighten you out. What I want to know is how did Ozzie get in some lipstick? Did you leave your purse on the floor? I think there is some spray to keep dogs from pooping on something, maybe you need to find it and spray it all over your whole house, LOL

Debbie

Oh no...you've crossed over to the dark side...Welcome! Organizing and re-organizing is all I've been doing this week - Hate it! Lol, my daughter calls my dog, Chance gay because he's so prissy sometimes!

dee

You are so funny. I'm happy I'm not alone in having one of those days. Starting out with the best of intentions and finding yourself, many hours later, with a pile of stuff done but minus the original thing.
Ozzie, if not gay, is clearly metrosexual and very hip.

karen

Oh my that sounds like me. I start off on one project and before I know it I couldn't be farther away from what i started out doing. Glad I'm not alone on that highway. Hang in there eventually you get back to what you started, right, LOL.

Hugs - Karen

Thanks for making me smile! Your comments about Ozzie's sexuality made me roar with laughter - and my poor children wonder what on earth I'm doing!
You must be the Princess of procrastination - because I am the Queen (and not like Ozzie's sexual ambiguity!). Now - what was it Scarlett O'Hara said .....
By the way - your drawers (particularly your makeup one) look fantastic - if that's not inspiration for procrastination .....
Kind regards - Dawn
