The kids are coming home for a visit this weekend, so I thought "Nicole, you had better get Posh Baskets off the guest bed". I had a gazillion little pieces laid out because the setting is really complicated (to my feeble brain anyway). There are two sizes of lattice, 10 1/2 inches and 11 1/2 inches. I have to really concentrate on which size goes where. Plus there are tiny little corner stones that measure an inch and a half. Seriously, this setting needs a rocket scientist to visualize it correctly so it doesn't get put together all wonky. My brain hurt after laying it all out. Lots and lots of pieces, all carefully arranged just so.
Ozzie has been driving me NUTS all morning, grabbing things from the sewing room and running off, snatching patterns, chewing on pillows etc. I decided to give him a nice chicken basted rawhide bone so he wouldn't bother me and I could sew and concentrate on Posh Baskets. The chicken basted ones can get kind of slimy and messy after a dog chews on them for a couple of hours, but I thought the risk was worth it to keep Ozzie occupied.
Not too much time passed when I heard a scuffling in the guest room. I got up from the Bernina to see what Ozzie was up to. I am leaving his eyes green so you can see him as the Demon from Hell he really is.
He had scuffled half of all my little lattice strips, micro corner stones and basket blocks into a pile at the head of the bed and BURIED HIS SLIMY BONE in them under the pillow.
That is his head on the right. gazing in dismay at his foiled efforts. If you could have seen the huffy look he gave me for disturbing his hiding place you would have cracked up. But not me. Not funny.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
You either have to laugh or cry and I would have cried! So much for being careful with laying everything out! Hang in there. Maybe next time the layout will be easier. I just hope once you put it away, that you return to it. You know how we are...........Nancy in WI

I'm sorry - I know it's not funny but...it's so funny! I think you need one of those portable design walls so you don't have to worry about little paws or slimy bones. :)

Looks like the kind of happening that is hilarious later. It will make a good story, and you have pictures to prove it.

Oh, my goodness. I think I would have cried. I can hardly wait to see those posh baskets put together.

Sorry, I can't help laughing! I am sympathetic but the look on Ozzie's face is priceless!
I can't wait to see those baskets together.

Ahhh - the adventures of Ozzie. Quite funny from here . . . but then I remember the time our cat yakked hairballs on blocks I had arranged on the floor *ugh*

eeeeeeewwwwwwww - dog slime. I hope you are able to get it together! =)

Not again, Ozzie! I thought he was being a good dog. I know it's not funny for you, it sure makes me smile when I read of Ozzie's adventures. He wants some one on one time - all of the time. *s*

Now I know you really REALLY love Ozzie 'cause he's not dead after that trick.
P.S. We don't allow those basted bones in the house.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Chance buries all his bones under my pillow! What's up with that? Love the quilt! :)
Posted by: debbie | June 05, 2008 at 08:51 AM
OMG! And a slimmy bone on the pillow to boot.
He's looking at you like "Whhhat?" Gosh, he is to cute, but I do feel your pain ;-)

OMG I think I better head out there and rescue Ozzie...oh maybe I should rescue you instead...LOL! If he just weren't so darn cute.
Posted by: Carol | June 05, 2008 at 09:09 AM
OH..NO...Not the baskets! Ozzie really wants to be first in line, but he sure has a cute "demon" face!
I feel your pain though! My little doxies are full of energies and mischievous too. I usually have to take them for a nice long walk to tire them out before I tackle any sewing.

Bad puppy. Bad, bad puppy. Um, I'm not sure who needs rescue more -- you or the dog. I'll vote for you and the poor posh baskets. Bad dog!

Aw - he just wanted to be in the thick of things. He's awfully cute for a little green-eyed demon. You need to get yourself a portable design wall, but something tells me he'd find it great fun to pull the blocks off of that, too.

ROTFL... Ozzie.... those green eyes! You made my day. Sorry about the quilt!
Posted by: Colleen | June 05, 2008 at 10:34 AM
Maybe Ozzie needs to go to Doggie Day Care!
So sorry about all your pieces.

Green eyed Ozzie, I was giggling while reading it. But of course if he would have done something like that with my things I would be very angy. I understand you very well, hope you get everything ok now!
Have a nice day and relax (and a big smile to your green eyed demon)!!!
Have a nice day!
