Carol

OMG I hate those darn things!

sara

my gawd that happens to you a lot. Sheesh. We are having a staff pot luck today, hosted by moi, and half the people forgot. My strawberry pie has freezer burn, YUCK. Ryan is being irritating. I'm having sort of a crumby day myself.

Cheryl

Nicole . . . contrary to what the stores want you to believe . . . you can get that off . . . my husband has pried them off using a screwdriver . . . in a matter of minutes . . . you just need strength in your hands . . . so maybe have your husband do it . . .

Donna

That same thing happened to me except I was visiting my brother in Houston and didn't find the thing until I got back to my mom's in north TX packing to fly home to Illinois. Of course Illinois, where I lived then, didn't have Foley's so we had to scramble to find and get to one in Oklahoma City before my flight. How in the world did we get out of the store in the first place????? So irritating! I can surely feel your pain.

Julia

I hate that too! How come, when they forget to take them off, doesn't the alarm go off? but, it probably will when you take it back to the store.
So, what did you end up wearing for your birthday date?

Janet

I love Macy's but I can't tell you how many times that has happened to me too. Now I always double check my purchases either before I leave the store or when I get to the car. It's a 30 minute drive to go back to the store from my house. If you ask for a discount for your trouble, sometimes you will get a little bit more off. Good luck!

Libby

Oh how I love those Macy's markdowns *s* But isn't the 'eternal question' Why don't those alarms go off when we leave the store?

Rhonda

i've had that happen. except i had bought the outfit in the US(i live in Canada) the store actually paid for me to ship the item back, they pulled the tag off and mailed it back

Beth

What a pain, I hate those darned things. I had one left on a purse one time and no one ever came running after me, I didn't even know it was on there until I went to use it. You can get them off, but it's a lot of work.

Jane Weston

Oh Dear Nicole...hopefully they won't have that jacket in the shop anymore so they will tell it's from stock from 3 months ago...another idea is to check your credit card or bank statement for the purchase and bring that to them to prove you bought it. Good Luck...BTW those we're suggestions from my very practical DH... :o)

Barbie Jo

OMG, that is soooo funny! I once had to buy a pair of shoes in a hurry for my hot night out. Once home and dressed to the 9s, I go to put my new shoes on, there were 2 different sizes in the box LOL!

Barbie Jo

Well sorry, it struck my funny bone because we have all been there, but I am sure it was NOT funny at the moment!

MichelleB

I'm always paranoid that one of those darn things is going to be left on my clothes when I leave a store. Knock on wood, it hasn't happened yet.

Ailsa

This has happened to me recently when I bought a pair of jeans. I bought them in one store of a chain of stores but had to take them back to a different one. The assistant told me that she might have problems taking the tag off as it was different to the ones in her store, fortunately she got it off easily, than goodness.

Cathi

I've never had that happen but really wonder how on earth you got out of that store without it setting off some alarm! Hope you have no difficulty getting it sorted out.

Donna

Always happens to me at Christmas time around Christmas Eve when I am wrapping last minute clothes for my daughter! Oh well she is old enough to take them back herself now!

Mary Wood

I hate it when that happens The sales girl should remember to take them off It looks bad when you take them back they sort of look at you funny untill you show them your docket Ha Ha see i paid for it then they smile back at you.
Hugs Mary.

Karen Beigh (Log Cabin Quilter)

I had this happen to me once. Lucky I still had the receipt.
A funny story. A good while back, we saw the same young man at a local restaurant two different times. He thought he was really cool with his snappy clothes and all his gold jewelry, fancy cell phone, & shiny way too cool shoes. His fancy pants had the sort of clear type size sticker stuck to the back of one of the legs. Wonder why no one in his group noticed and alerted him.

Susan Ramey Cleveland

That's never happened to me. They don't put those things on clothes at Wal*Mart.

Karen Lee

Arghhh! I've had this happen. Darnit. I hope to hear how this one turns out. Sheesh. I missed so much this week.

LizzyMae

OOOOOOHHHHHH!!!! That TOTALLY chaps my butt! And the sales clerks are usually horribly unapologetic. I think you should get a small gift card or percent off coupon when that happens... Especially with gas prices being so high and the time you spend going back to the store. Lovely jacket, however!

Jane

Oh dear I feel dense...I was trying to work out why you are going to take it back.
Did not realize (having never gone home with one) that those things are not easy to get off.
I now understand...........but doubt I will ever get to see Macys.

Nan

Good grief! How did you manage to get out of the store without setting off the alarms? And how could they have forgotten to take off the tag? I would be a bit upset, too.
