Sorry to have dropped out of sight for a few days there! Guess what? I got a new job! It is a part time job, just five hours a day four days a week. I get Fridays off, work with kind and mellow women, have a bright sunny office all to myself, and think I am going to like it very much. My desk isn't quite as swanky as the one pictured above, but it is very nice indeed. I feel so grateful to have found employment when so many people are out of work. I am very lucky indeed.
I will have plenty of time for quilting, reading and playing with my silly dogs. I have been sewing all weekend, so you will see the fruits of my labors in my posts this week.
The other big news is that Ozzie and Sophie got haircuts. Did they ever need them. I have never seen such shaggy dogs. Ozzie behaved badly at the grooming salon of course, and had to wear the "happy cap" again. Sophie was an angel and will happily be invited back. We will probably have to pay double for Ozzie, if they take him again. Ozzie is extremely unhappy with his new look, and crawled into Sophie's smaller dog crate and tried to make himself very small. Look at that glower on his face. I don't think he is coming out until his hair grows out.
Hope you are all having a terrific weekend!
Congratulations on your new job! I knew that it wouldn't take you long to find another job that actually makes you feel good about doing your job. What kind of work will you be doing?
Congratulations on the new haircuts! We all need a "new do" every once in awhile!
Can't wait to see your newest creations.

I love hearing about Ozzie and Sophie. We had a neighbor dog who would look like he was laughing at our dogs hair cut and she would not go outside for hours. Dogs sometimes they seem like humans.

Congrats on the new job! It sounds great. Poor embarrassed Ozzie! LOL

Great news on the job. Ozzie & Sophie remind of the dogs we had growing up, they were a bit bigger, Airdales. When Perk & Penny were groomed they would strut around like they owned the world. Looked just like your babies only bigger. Enjoy the new job.

Congrats on the job! Wonderful hours that will leave you lots of time to "play"....how great is that? I hope you really have a good work experience.

I'm glad you found a job that you feel good about. Those are pretty good hours, too. Good for you. Poor Ozzie...but he did a reward...you took his picture and not Sophie's. It's funny how dogs (and my cat) pout just like little kids. But if we try to act like them, they don't get it.

Congrats on the new job Nicole...the hours sound great. Poor Ozzie...he's so embarrassed...We had a groomer that used to come to the house and take the boys into her big fancy van to give them baths and trim nails and everything...one day Howie went second and when he was done she brought him into the house and gave me the bill...it was much higher than normal...when questioned she said "Howie was naughty for nails"...OMG!

Sounds like a great job, 5 hours a day, 4 days a week and 3 day weekends. Do tell, where are you working? And do they have a location in Florida?!

Nicole . . . you are going to love your new job . . . if for no other reason than your hours . . .
I have had the same set up for the past 9 years . . . 4 days a week . . . 6 hours each day . . .
recently they gave me the choice to change it to 3 days a week . . . 8 hours each day . . . and i grabbed it . . .
so now I have friday, saturday, sunday, monday . . . OFF . . . I love it . . .
Good for you . . . and congratulations . . .

God bless sweet Ozzie. I'm sorry you feel so bad, Oz. If it helps, I think you look beeuteefull. Make 'em give you extra treats tonight to make up for the mental anguish.

Congrats to your new employer for getting you as an employee!! I knew it was just a matter of time...and just the right thing would come along. The hours sound perfect!
Ozzie does not look too pleased with you, however...LOL...that photo is hysterical!

GREAT news about your job - you sound very happy about the schedule and all! Congrats. Once my B-in-law decided to save $ by grooming my sister's shitzu - oh boy!!! Let's just say that the surprise didn't go over well and B-in-law decided that the groomer's fees were well worth it afterall! I hope Ozzie realizes that you are just doing him a favor...??? LOL! He doesn't look toooo thrilled.
Cheers! Evelyn
