My husband is home from his trip and order has been restored at our house. The dogs are on their best behavior in his presence. I definitely am not anywhere on the alpha chain. We have a call in to a professional dog trainer to see if she can help us with our canine discord.
Ozzie is totally back to normal and full of fun. Wounds all healed, no sign of infection, no pain. Sophie is calm and sweet and for the moment all is well. We are keeping them apart for most of the time just in case.
I spent most of yesterday at the mall enjoying some retail therapy to shake the experience of last week out of my mind. One excellent thing that came of the Week From Hell was that I lost 6 pounds!!! No kidding. Got to stick with it so it stays off! Sure had fun trying on clothes.
My DH and son had a super time on their trip to Palm Desert. But they are not going back anytime soon and leaving me with these dogs. No way.
I want to sincerely thank all of you who made such thoughtful and supportive comments during my crisis with the dogs. You gave such good advice and just hearing your own stories helped me put my situation into perspective. My goodness, blogging has provided me with some wonderful friends.
Tomorrow is Shopping Tuesday on my blog, and I have quite a bit that I plan to list. I am finding that I am just scraping the tip of the iceberg in my stash closet! My post is set to post at 8:00 AM tomorrow, Pacific Daylight Time.
HURRRRRRAAAAAAYY!!!!
Lots of positive thoughts going your way and encouragement for you, hubby, Sophie and Ozzie.
If in doubt remember that Victoria has completely changed dogs who have nearly been put down for biting other dogs and humans. You know that all those morning snuggles are worth fighting for and I admire you greatly for being prepared to try and train her. Remember to try her book as this won't be as expensive.
I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!
lots of love to you all Debbs

When I read your email, my stomach turned as I know you really wanted this resolved. I can't imagine loving a pet so much and having to make a decision to give one away. I know it is difficult enough when one passes. I have a cat now (adopted by my highly allergic son to cats), but I have had dogs in the past and remember when there were two that couldn't get along. We made it work somehow. I am happy it is looking up a little. Good Luck and take care.

Glad you have come with a resolution. I hope it goes well. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Gads, that golf picture is absolutely beautiful! No green here, just brown after the snow melted. Nancy in WI

I must say--your first picture of the white flag gave me a nice "chuckle" for today--thanks!!!! Am glad to hear there is some peace now and that you are working on the dogs "problems" so many people would just take one of them for a ride and not come home with it---Thanks for caring!!!
Have a great Week, Just Di from Quiltingisblissful in NY

Not the best way to lose weight, but I'm glad to hear things have calmed down. It sounds like you have some hope for the dogs staying together which would be the best.

Good news! I hope the dog professional can help you as much as my lady helped us. It definitely can work, just have to know how to "work" the dog. I wish you the best and will be anxious to hear how things are going. Also congrats on the weight loss.

It is so true about needing to be alpha over the doggies! I hope the trainer will help you. I was just checking in to see what the outcome was and obviously missed out on some great fabrics too! Shucks!!
