Before I start on my new Spools project, I definitely need to clean up things in my sewing studio. Which means moving this Kiss Me project along. Yesterday was my day off, and I sewed the blocks together and attached the first border.
Now I am making 48 flying geese, which will be the second border. I am using Monique Dillard's Fit to be Geese ruler to make the flying geese units, rather than following the standard method given in the pattern. I just find using this tool produces the most perfect flying geese ever.
It has to be my favorite tool. If you don't have one....well, you should.
Aw. Arent' they cute? Just look at them flying along in their cute grey floralness. Perfect little points, perfect little quarter inch seam allowance. All due to the ruler.
So, today and tomorrow, I have the baby, but hope to finish the remaining geese and get this top put together. Is anyone else out there working on this Kiss Me project? Send me pics if you are, I would love to post them.
Great quilt, Nicole. The design wall makes such a difference.

Applause, applause!!! The Kiss Me quilt is just darling and your fabric choices and the border are just perfect! As always, I admire you zeal and speedy accomplishments.
I seem to be of the slow but not so steady mode in my sewing lately.
DS2 has built a new computer for me and is testing it before installing it. My computer tower is a third-hand-me-down and has developed some weird oddities of its own choosing. Out it goes before it starts talking back as in, "No, Dave, I can't do that."! YIKES!!!
Hugs!

Isn't it fun how borders can make a quilt sizzle? You've really gone to town and are getting this done quickly. So pretty.

I loved this project when you started it and love it even more now! It is just wonderful! I"m so impressed you've come this far this quickly, you've had a very busy summer! But definitely time well spent.

Yes, your Kiss Me quilt is pretty and cheery! Those geese rulers are really "da bomb" aren't they? I have gotten completely sidetracked by my Schnibbles books and am having fun doing a variation of her X-Rated design.

I'm not working on the Kiss Me project, but I ordered the Spools pattern yesterday and am gathering the fabric. I hope to be able to sew along!

I recently purchased this pattern! I am taking it with me to the quilt retreat in Aug., along with too many other projects.
I don't have that ruler but it's on my list!
