My Flowering Snowball quilt is a finish! It took no time at all to get the blocks finished and the rows sewn together. This will be a beautiful quilt for Eva to use on her bed this summer. She is thrilled with it, and immediately wanted to lie down under it to pretend it was finished and ready for her to use. Thank you Lisa D. for the generous gift of the Kaffe Fassett fabrics that inspired this project. I am now hooked on Kaffe Fassett as well as curved piecing.
As I have mentioned previously, I used the Flowering Snowball templates sold by Baycreek, in the 10 inch block size. Cutting was not difficult--I recommend using a small size rotary cutter (28 mm) for more easily cutting around the curves of the templates. In previous posts I have described my three pin technique for sewing curved seams.
As luck would have it, just yesterday I found a link to both a downloadable video and a book on curved piecing that are excellent. I ordered both, and have already watched the video, by Angela Pingel. It is called Sewing Techniques for Accurate Curved Piecing: Basics and Beyond. It cost $19.99 and was well worth it. Wish I had had this at the beginning of my curved piecing journey. Angela's book is called A Quilter's Mixology: Shaking Up Curved Piecing. $20.99 on Amazon.com. If you are new to curved piecing, or want to learn more about it before you jump in, you might find her book and video interesting. The book has loads of ideas on using the Drunkard's Path block, which I hope to do soon.
Thanks so much for all the recommendations on wonderful British tv series yesterday! Oh my goodness, I started watching Call the Midwife, and lost track of hours while I sewed. No wonder it seemed like my Flowering Snowball blocks went together fast. I am really enjoying that series. If you are looking for some suggestions on what shows to watch, read yesterday's comments. You will get more ideas than you can imagine!
Wow - just beautiful. Makes me want to try curved piecing again.

Applause, applause!!! Lovely, cheerful and utterly delightful Flowering Snowball quilt. Well done! Love that Eva is so eager to sleep under it, too.
You remain the Queen of Speed Piecing and Finishing!
Hugs!

That is a beautiful quilt! The black squares really add zest - so subtle yet so powerful.

Immaculate piecework Nicole! I can just imagine Eva dancing up and down for this one.

It's beautiful, Nicole. I don't do curves. They frustrate me no end. But I love yours.

Beautiful finish! I am not a fan of Kaffe fabric, but it is stunning in this quilt!

It's gorgeous. And in the depths of our Canadian winter, all those fresh pink and white snowballs look so warm and appealing. I like Kaffe fabric, but can never 'see' what to do with it. You've provided some great inspiration.
