Breathing a big sigh of relief over here. Aurora is now finished! 127 4 1/2" stars did take awhile, I must admit, but it was worth it. I love this finished quilt. I think it is beautiful in blues and whites, but it would also be gorgeous in red and white. Scrappy stars would be wonderful too.
The pattern is "Aurora" by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket quilts. The pattern is in her book "Patches of Blue", but is also available separately I believe. The fabric I chose is Regency Blues, a collection designed by Christopher Wilson Tate for Moda. The quilt top measures 56 3/4" x 73 5/8".
The quilt is assembled in diagonal rows, which took my brain a bit of effort to work out, but in the end it came out just right.
These cool blues were perfect to work on in the heat of the summer. I envision this quilt folded at the foot of the bed on top of a white matelasse coverlet.
It's just beautiful!

Lovely. I am just starting to cut mine out. 61 stars thus far. I think I might add some blue greens to my mix. I am also contemplating Edyta's Shimmering Snow. My drawer of blues needs to be thinned out. I sew from stash.

So, so pretty, Nicole!! Is the ivory fabric Regency Blues, as well? Did you use a fat quarter pack or did you buy half yard cuts of the blues??
