The other day I came across a YouTube tutorial from Shabby Fabrics on making a holiday table runner with a pre-printed quilt-as-you-go table runner batting. They had a June Tailor kit they were promoting, but the pre-printed batting is available without their choice of fabric for a much less expensive price ($16). You could totally use your stash and save yourself $50 for the kit.
It made me think how lovely it would be to make holiday table runners using this method. They are fast to make and people would love to receive them.
I started rummaging through my patterns and found a lot of old ones that had a similar look. Obviously, they are not the quilt-as-you-go method, but still would be very quick to construct out of holiday fabrics for a great seasonal gift.
Alas, time is a major obstacle for me this year, and I doubt I will have time to make any holiday gifts. I need at least six more hours in each day. Sigh.
However, these quick and easy table runners are a great option for those of you with a decent stash and some time on your hands.
Tell us, do you make runners for people as a holiday gift? What other ideas do you have for quick, fun, holiday presents that people love to receive? Bowl cozies, zippered bags, table toppers....
I have made table runners as gifts (Christmas and Halloween) and also have made Christmas pillows for gifts. I usually plan it way in advance so I’m not scrambling at the last moment as I need to Mail all my gifts.

Yes I make table runners as gifts. This year I am making them reversible. Fall on one side, Christmas/Winter on the other. I will probably use a stipple quilting design. You have some great pattern options in your stash. I also have made the bowl cozy as gifts too.

I've made table runners and toppers, oven mitts, wall hangings, placemats, pillows, tree skirts. The pillows are pretty fast to make.
I just finished some quilt as you go placemats for us using jellyrolls. That was fast(except having to bind 6 of them). I also somewhere have a pattern for charms to make runners and those do go quick- no bindings!

Before I retired I made ornaments for all the staff and trustees every year--50+--so I was attuned to projects that were easy to mass-produce. Right now I like to make mug rugs. As well as being used as intended (oversized coasters) they can be small wall hangings. They're the right size for a thinking-of-you gift. (Funny that I like to make mug rugs but I've never made fabric postcards.)

Funny you should mention it...right now, I'm in the midst of making table runners as gifts! I bought 3 kits containing everything except batting for $15. each on a recent trip. They're self-binding with the backing wrapping around to the top. I've already made another one with fabric from my stash/leftovers & I can see where this is going...

My favorite table runner for a gift is the Spicy Spiral. It is so fun to make and looks great in holiday fabrics. I like doing lap throws for gifts too. I did one queen size quilt as you go quilt many years ago. Lots of work. Table runners would be better suited. Looks like you have a good assortment of patterns ready to go.
