Just a quick post today to show my pretty green rail fence blocks. The pattern is Don't Fence Me In by Miss Rosie's Quilt Co. (I mistakenly called it Gazebo in an earlier post). The fabrics are called Lucky Charms, which I got online from Shabby Fabrics. I got all the fabric cut out and just had to make a few test blocks. I have 90 to make in all for the quilt top.
The blocks go together like a dream. You make the rail fence section, then attach the four outer triangles, which are then trimmed down to an 8" square quilt block.
I am using a Creative Grids ruler called "Perfect 10" to trim up the blocks. You line the 4 inch line up at all four points of the Rail Fence unit and trim away the excess on all four sides. Every block is coming out just right. You can use the ruler to trim blocks up to 10 inches.
Hope everyone is having a splendid week.
I love those soft shades of green. Is this pattern in one of her books? I couldn't find it by google.

That's going to be a gorgeous quilt! The greens are so calming. Creative Grids rulers are always reliable--I need to look for this one!

Your blocks look so great! I like that you say they come together like a dream too. I'm thinking that this looks like a great pattern for a scrappy quilt — all the rail fences could be scraps, and the outer triangles could be yardage (or all scrappy, but planned by color). I can’t seem to find the pattern to purchase anywhere online though. Was it published in a book, or did you buy the stand alone pattern? I know I could design this in EQ, but I prefer to buy patterns when I can (feels like the right thing to do).

Nice design for a great scrap-buster. Thanks for the ruler recommendation.
