Glad you got a lot of support; it is an emotional ride when this happens. Sometimes I still look back and think about my experience; but I've learned to try to not do that because it certainly isn't encouraging! Since retirement, I'm so busy doing the things I love and being able to spend hours doing it. You will too.

I’m sure your mind will go back to it many times for the next few weeks, but please remember how much our hearts are with you. Xoxo

This has been a crazy experience for you and I'm so glad you shared it with us - you deserve better and I wish you the very best going forward! I absolutely love the color scheme you picked for the blocks - it is stunning 😍

This 2023 Designer Mystery is a Gorgeous pattern!
The fabrics are very lovely and I admire your work. This mystery is to my liking as I usually don't love mysteries. The blocks are all very interesting and the end result will be a quilt to treasure. I am glad you have more time to sew and play with Archie. These two things will make each day joyful and bitter sweet. Try not to take the job loss personally as it is not a reflection on you but a reflection on how the business world has changed for the worst. So very impersonal these days. A total lack of respect for employees in general, even though there is a shortage of workers in all sectors it seems that employers just don't feel any obligation to them, we are just a "Dime a Dozen" concept. Makes one feel totally under valued, especially mature workers.
Something new will show up for you, it's a matter of being open to it and in the meantime enjoy the things you love spending time doing. Cheers!

Betty

I missed your last post. I’m sorry about your pink slip. More and more employees are undervalued. When that happens, job satisfaction decreases also. The company looses more than they realize. On the bright side, you have a puppy and fabric!!

Your log cabin alternate block would look great as an entire quilt! I really like it! I've read the term 'quiet firing' & it describes exactly what happened. Close that door & don't look back. You've got a loving family, a new puppy & many interests to spend your days on, so onward & upward!

Just for the heck of it, I faced my last "pink slip" as though a brick hit me. I groused for a month I'm sure, I know I spent a whole day in tears. When I got myself together, I found a circle of people to get work from and built a business that lasted me another 10 years. It was put together by me, and run by me, and occasionally I hired another person to help me. I doubled my salary and was in charge of everything and I loved it. When I evaluated my happiness at work and going to the bank with my earnings, I wished I'd seen the pink slip coming and got my act together sooner. It can happen. Stitch till you decide what to do.

Glad you’re doing okay. Your blocks look fantastic!
