Just a quick update on Archie and the new inflatable collar. Carolyn suggested we give the inflatable collar a try, as they seem as if they would be so much more comfortable than the traditional hard plastic "cone of shame" that they give you after a dog has surgery.
It reminded me a lot of the travel neck pillows you can get to wear on an airplane. I tried it on and thought it was very comfortable. Which is good, because Archie didn't care for it at all, so I might be wearing it on our next flight to Ireland.
Go figure. He didn't care a bit that it was superior to the plastic cone. He bucked and thrashed like a wild horse when we put it on him. So much for resting and keeping quiet. There was no talking him into it, so we put him out of his misery and put the clunky cone collar back on him.
As it turns out, he's not going to need the cone collar much longer. He has shown no interest whatsoever in investigating, licking, or otherwise noticing his surgical site. He is completely unfazed by the whole event and is back to his normal bouncy self.
Bless his little cotton socks! So cute with the comfy ruff. If you get some use of it then that's great. I love the design on it!

Ahhh Archie! That's how to keep the momager on her toes. When she thinks she knows what's best, you'll show her!!🤣🤣

What a character this little man is! So typical terrier behavior - UNPREDICTABLE!! I'm glad he's healing and not interested in tending any wounds.

Well now, isn't he the little trooper! I'm glad he's being so in-charge....that means he must be feeling much better. I think it's cute, but maybe it was the bright color that he can see around his neck, and that's what he's fighting....what could it be? Maybe if it was the same color as the cone. I would think any dog wearing it would appreciate having more peripheral vision rather than what they get from a cone. Oh well, the fur babies will reign in the end! Glad he's better.

Archie is adorable! All that work to get comfortable protection about the incision and he doesn't even care! You just never know how a pet will respond to a surgery. I'm so glad to hear he's on the mend. (But he does look very cute in the collar.)

Our daughter couldn't stand those cones on her dogs after their surgery. She took them off immediately and got a child's tshirt or onesie and put on them. Hers also didn't seem to lick their incision. He's sure a cutie!! Love your blog and I can't believe all the projects you get done! Happy Easter🐰🐇

I missed this post on Friday. Archie does look adorable in the orange slice but if he's upset then it's probably better as a neck pillow for you! It sounds like he's well on the road to recovery which is great! Have a lovely Easter. 💐
