In an attempt to gain peace of mind, i have decided to try to focus on one quilting project at a time for a while. Maybe if I feel like i am progressing towards a finish, I will feel less overwhelmed by all my myriad of projects. I decided to go with the Strawberry Garden project, which is in a book by Fig Tree. I have made a lot of blocks, but I still have a way to go. The next block up in the book is a fairly large and complicated block featuring two strawberries.
Take a look at all those pieces! I like to use the Alphabitty tags to keep my pieces straight and I got up to T! This is not a record for me, but still, that is a heck of a lot of pieces for one block!
I was pleased at how nicely this came out, even it it did take me half a day to make it! It is really four blocks in one.
I went ahead and rearranged the blocks to show their approximate final placement in the quilt. It looks like I've made a lot of blocks, and I have. However there are a lot more to go. There will also be a pieced lattice separating some of the blocks. Putting this thing together is going to be a project in itself! This is a rather involved quilt, not for sissies, for sure. I have seen some that are finished and they are amazing.
This is the finished result I am going for. You can see I have my work cut out for me. I'd better get cracking.
